Healthy nutrients in tree nuts

Nuts are a great source of protein, fibre, minerals and vitamins with a host of health benefits. Because they contain polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, a handful of nuts can aid satiety, leaving you feeling fuller for longer and so they make for a great snack.

Having nuts in your diet has also been linked to reducing the risk of developing heart disease or type 2 diabetes.

Up your intake by:

  • Adding almonds to smoothies
  • Strewing roasted (unsalted) nuts over salads and stirfries
  • Mixing crushed nuts into dips and pâtés
  • Adding some to your yoghurt or muesli
