If you’re kicking off winter’s bad habits and getting into shape, taking a look at what you get from the food you eat is really important. Even more so with excess sugar.
Take the time to read the ingredients list of food products and look out for the following, which are also forms of sugar.
If they’re in the first five ingredients, chances are the sugar content is pretty high:
- Cane sugar
- Beet sugar
- Corn sugar
- Corn syrup (or HFCS – High Fructose Corn Syrup)
- Brown sugar and molasses
- Agave and agave nectar
- Fructose, dextrose, lactose, sucrose.
- Honey, syrup
- Fruit juice concentrate
- Invert sugar
