Take some grapes…

Cold grapes on a hot day are one of summer’s great pleasures. Not only do they taste wonderful, they’re a source of water and resveratrol, an antioxidant shown to have anti-inflammatory and other health benefits.

Eat them like this:

  • Add them to your smoothie or fruit salad
  • Make focaccia or breadsticks using grapes – slice them in half and firmly press them into the dough before baking
  • Make a grape tart – take an apple or pear tart recipe and substitute the apples or pears with grapes. Pears and grapes play nicely together, so you could do a mixture of the two
  • Freeze grapes and use them instead of ice in your glass of water or iced tea
  • Choose firm grapes and dip them in melted chocolate, then into almond nibbles. Store in the fridge until the chocolate has set and remove just before eating
  • Red grapes are delicious in a salad or with seared tuna
  • Make a grape, watermelon and feta salad and drizzle with balsamic reduction
