The Argus

It’s that time of year again! For those who competed last year and committed to beating their personal best this year have probably been training for some time. For those who didn’t compete and committed to training for the race this year are probably alarmed at how time has flown. Either way, this challenging but ultimately thrilling and fun race is almost upon us.

The 36th Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour, the largest individually timed cycle event in the world (THE WORLD!), takes place on Sunday, the 10th of March. This magnificent race, one which pulls people to Cape Town from all over the country, and even the world, has even enticed Sir Richard Branson, who will be joining the Virgin Active team this year. Unfortunately entries for South Africans have closed but if you’re coming from further afield, they do still have some spots available. Perhaps the perfect time to plan a holiday in Cape Town (albeit short notice now) but what could be more of a once in a lifetime experience than joining 35 000 others on one of the most beautiful routes that competitive cycling has ever seen?

If you are not competing this year, you can still show your support by joining in the action somewhere along the route. You can download the map here.
