Train Better At the Gym

Although it was always this way for a fortunate few, fitness has finally become really cool. Rebelling against it or being “above it” no longer is. The harder you work, the better the results and the more consistent your efforts, the more valuable the outcome. It’s that simple. It took me years to finally get this but now that I have, I couldn’t be happier about it. Exercising every day is not hard or a chore or anything of the sort, instead it’s a necessity and a pleasure. All it took to get here was to move through the awkward beginning phases of taking fitness on, finding forms of exercise that I love and never letting myself just retreat to the couch. It’s also about reading and reading and reading, learning about how to do things properly. The things we learn in school and growing up are not always correct so the more you read, the more you can make decisions for yourself about what is right. It’s often about common sense.

Women’s Health put up a great new web article today, about how to train better at the gym using more natural movements instead of defaulting to machines, which aren’t always effective or even safe. They’ve put together a list of alternative movements, with visuals, that can help you get more out of your workouts.
