Have you heard of sriracha? Have you tried it? Well, you should!
Sriracha = hot sauce! It’s a chili sauce made from a paste of chili peppers and vinegar. Widely used in Thai cuisine as a sauce for seafood, it has found its way into many other meals and cuisines, adding a delicious bite and flavour.
Find it in the fresh KAUAI menu in items like the Citrus sriracha salad made with house greens, free range roast chicken, lentils, cucumber, rosa tomatoes, carrots, spring onion, mint, sriracha, lemon squeeze and a cucumber mint and yoghurt dressing. Or try the Mexi Bowl which is a delicious combo of warm brown rice and quinoa, free range roast chicken, jalapenos, salsa, rocket, avo, raw corn, coriander, multi grain tortilla chips, lemon olive oil vinaigrette and sriracha.
Not sure what to use it in? You can simply replace chili flakes or any other hot sauce with a little of this delicious sauce – it works in salads, baked dishes, on your meat for the braai and is particularly good with grilled seafood.
