So have you decided to give an alkaline diet a go? We’ve been getting a lot of feedback on this trend, but here are 2 things to keep in mind:
You can’t judge a food by its content:
Apparently not all acidic foods are necessarily acid producing. Take a lemon for example – while it contains citric acid, it seemingly doesn’t have an acidifying effect once in your digestive system. So do a little research before adapting your food choices.
It’s all about the right balance:
There’s no rule about avoiding all acidifying foods, so there’s still some flexibility in terms of your meal composition and preferences. A reported ratio of 40:60 of acid producing foods to alkaline producing foods is the way to go, and you can up that ratio in favour of the alkaline producing foods when you’re training hard.
Make your way to select KAUAI stores and you’ll see the new freshly squeezed alkaline juices available to help balance your blood pH and boost you training: Lemon, Carrot, Celery & Apple Juice and a Watermelon Juice, both with a pH of 9.
