The switch to slightly cooler and shorter days may have you filling up on Vit C and Vit B12 day in and day out to try and prevent colds and flu catching up with you.
But what about iron?
Before you pop a pill, keep in mind that an iron deficiency usually comes with certain symptoms you can look out for, such as
- Very pale or unusually pale skin
- Fatigue or exhaustion that’s not relieved by adequate sleep
- Brittle or uneven nails
- Reduced ability to exercise at your normal level
- Frequent infections
If you feel you suffer from these you should consult your doctor about what medications or supplements to take. You can also up your iron intake by eating some of these foods.
