At the end of April, Cape Town will be playing host to the first ever World Triathlon in Africa. After coming up against Australia’s Gold Coast and winning the bid, this special and prestigious event will take place in Cape Town. Not only will the event see top athletes compete for top titles but the event is open to anyone who is active and wants to experience a little bit of that Olympic feeling. A 500m Swim, 20km Cycle and 5km Run is open to individuals and teams, with a special emphasis being placed on family relay teams. If you’d like to go up against the big guys, a standard Olympic distance event will also take place with a 1500m Swim, 40km Cycle and 10km Run. This will be a particularly exciting one for spectators.
